The Baroque Bohemians
Red Priest transform into an imaginary gypsy band - bringing a gypsy twist to their own inimitable, high-octane style! They travel back in time to re-live the wild gypsy-esque virtuosity of early Baroque masters, explore melodies from a 1730 Slovakian fiddler’s tunebook, rattle through a work by one of the earliest gypsy violinists, revel in the gyspy influenced music of Telemann and re-imagine music by Handel and the Red Priest himself. The programme will include music by Biber, Costello, Telemann, Handel, Vivaldi, Janos Bihari and melodies from the manuscripts of the1730 Uhrovska collection.
